Beirut, Lebanon

It's been quite a troubling few days of news. I would like to send my support to the people of Beirut who suffered two vicious suicide attacks on Thursday. Following this event and the atrocities in Paris, let's hope that as few people as possible, no matter where they are in the world, suffer from this rampant violence in the future. May the week ahead be brighter and safer for all of us.

Paris, France

My thoughts are with the people of Paris today. The purpose of this project from its very beginning was to inspire new perspectives that would help us better understand why we need to take care of our planet, but also take care of each other. The massacre that took place yesterday was tragic and gruesome; President Obama rightfully called it “an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share." I am in no position to say how we can stop the violence that plagues our world, but I am optimistic that by coming together after such a tragedy, we move closer to realizing we are indeed one species that must see beyond the borders, cultures, beliefs, religions, ethnicities, and whatever else currently separates us so that we can work together to create a safer, healthier planet.
